The Consumer Electronic Show (CES) is always a great place to find out what cool games are coming out in the US, and what innovations in gadgetry will be made in the upcoming years. This year’s CES show did not disappoint, and something special happened this time around. A special party called the ShowStopper’s party was held during CES to showcase amazing technology, and gadgetry to a very select few. One of my favorites is the Powerdock by Griffin technologies. Most people now have more than one iPod, but limited chargers to charge them. Now, with the Powerdock, you can change 2 or 4 iPods at the same time. Definitely a time saver. Other cool technologies were showcased including a Skype branded Wireless headset that is neither WiFi nor Bluetooth. It utilizes a special chip made by Avnera to have it’s wirelesss capabilities.

This is a pretty powerful desktop computer. This little and tough Acer desktop computer features a twin core AMD Athlon X2 5000+ 2.6GHz processor. The integrated NVIDIA GeForce 8200 graphics chipset gives you great multimedia quality and VGA and HDMI outputs. An entertainment home PC, the Aspire X1200 may also be used to rip CDs and to make CDs, DVDs, and twin layer discs. This desktop is going to be really cool for gaming, and some light video editing. Once the software industry starts writing software that takes full advantage of the dual core processor’s power, things will really get interesting

This is an incredible video. I love the music in the background, and that the video is set to. The christmas tree looks awesome, and check out the lighting on the tree! The thing that makes this a fun video is that they do some crazy stuff with the lighting. I like the timing they use for the different transistions in the music. The lighting is varied with the music, and keeps changing depending upon what part of the music it is in. I do wonder how long this took to put together. They probably used some camera tricks, but probably also some flipping of the light switch.

I like this video because it shows a light show in a neighborhood. I would say this is my second favorite video in regards to lightshows in a neighborhood. I should have the other video up pretty soon which is even more impressive. But this one is a fun video to watch. The technology used in this is pretty good, but simple. I’m wondering if there will be more complicated tech in the future that will make home light shows easier to put together, and allow for making more complicated shows.

Bo H, the mastermind at Ogilvy Interactive shows off the Crimbell, and a special way that it can play “Auld Lang Syne”. It’s one of the new free apps for Xmas created by Bo’s team at Ogilvy in London. Bo looks like he’s having a lot of fun shooting this video. I personally see it as a precursor of even cooler things to come. Although the christmas season will soon be all wrapped up pretty soon, this definitely is still a fun app to play around with. The new Apple Ipod has shown off some really cool features in it’s commercials. The Crimbell should be lots of fun as well. We are definitely going towards an era of much more intereactive technology that we can interact with on a more intimate level. That sounded kind of sexy, didn’t it? :)
